Topura America Fastener, Inc. was originally established as TWN Fastener, Inc. in 1987 through the efforts of Topura Co., Ltd., John Wagner Associates, Inc., and Nissho Iwai Corporation (Metal One Corporation) and was based in Bowling Green, Kentucky. In May 2006, Topura Co., Ltd., a leading Japanese fastener manufacturer, became the sole shareholder. On January 1, 2007, we began conducting business as Topura America Fastener, Inc. Today TAF continues to serve a wide range of clientele, including those in automotive manufacturing, appliance manufacturing, and construction.

SUMMARY

The broad scope of this position is to provide maximum support to TAF long and short term business goals by developing policies and directing human resources activities, such as recruitment and selection, training and development; compensation and benefits; employee relations; safety, health and security; and management practices which will develop a skilled, productive work force able to deliver quality products in a timely manner to the customer's satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Administer, maintain company policy as established by the officers of the company
Review company policy and recommend improvements to the officers of the company.
Ensure that company procedures comply with Federal and State laws, communicate those procedures to employees, confirm all employee compliance and control documentation. i.e.:
FMLA
Fair Labor Standards Act
OSHA
Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964
ADA
Workers’ Compensation
Direct the efforts of the HR Administrator in regards to all duties assigned.
Negotiate and administer company liability insurance.
Negotiate and administer employee insurance and benefits to ensure they are competitive in the local market.
Responsible for upkeep of physical facilities.
Liaison with community and government officials including federal and state agencies, i.e.
Chamber of Commerce
OSHA
EPA
Reports to officers of the company on all employee issues, turnover rates and countermeasures for turnover.
Coordinates employee training, development and ensures training program is satisfactory to corporate objectives.
Train employees in Federal and State mandated safety programs, i.e.:
Forklift Safety
Lockout/Tagout
Hazardous Communication (Right to Know)
Human Resource Manager

· Harassment & Hostile Environment

· Safety and Emergency Procedures

· Chairs the Safety Committee, responsible for distributing information, development of employee safety incentive program and countermeasures for failure in all aspects of the safety program.

· Administer employee annual evaluations and reviews progress of all employees.

· Direct and conduct all company-sponsored events.

· Coordinate and publish monthly company newsletter.

· Enforce company work rules, policies and procedures.

· Educate, maintain, follow and review IATF16949 and ISO14001 standards.

· Contribute to a positive environment.

· Communicate with all departments professionally and effectively.

· Reacts to change productively and handles other tasks as assigned.

· Promote safety and correct unsafe work practices.

· Promote and maintain a clean work environment consistent with 5S practices.

· Participate in and encourage continuous improvement ideas, activities and efforts.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervises employees in the Human Resources Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or 3+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY

Must be a self-starter with good communication skills. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to apply principles of logical thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables. Experience and proven ability in interacting with people in a positive, motivating way.
